There is no more comfortable or handsome rocker than the P & Chair Company's classic southern Carolina Slat Porch Rocker. The P & P Company was purchased in 2009 by Troutman Chair Company but this classic rocker retains the same quality construction, looks, and comfort. Featuring the same sturdy construction as the Kennedy Rocker, the secret of this chair's comfort lies in the shrewdly planned steam-bent curve of the back post, which sweep in to give firm support to the sitter's back, and yet carry his weight down to the exact point on the rockers where they contact the floor. This makes for perfect, restful balance. The rocker is shaped, steam-bent, and assembled while still green to a tried and true design. There are no unnecessary frills - every part is functional - even the knobs atop the back posts have their use as a place to tie a back cushion. Suitable for covered porch use. Shipped fully assembled, just take it out of the box and enjoy.

Our rocker prices include US residential or commercial shipping to *most addresses in the Eastern or Central time zones. There is a $100 surcharge for rocker orders to eleven Mountain and Pacific time zone states due to ever increasing freight rates. This surcharge does not apply to orders of THREE OR MORE rockers to the same address. The shipping surcharge applies to AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, UT, OR, WA, WY. Read more about shipping on our shipping page.
*Please note: Some shipping addresses in the US incur a substantial shipping surcharge due to their location such as when a ferry would be required for delivery, or the rockers are to be delivered to an address in a major metropolitan city such as New York City. If your address is one that would incur such a surcharge and where we would suffer a loss over and above the sales price we will notify you and you can either agree to pay the extra shipping charges, agree to an alternate shipping address, or cancel your order.

A note about the Charleston Green finish: Legend says that Charleston Green, a green so deep it looks black, came about after the Civil War when Union troops sent buckets of black paint to help rebuild the decimated town. Colorful Charleston residents couldn’t bear the thought of their Holy City being painted government-issued black, so they tinted the paint with yellow and green, creating Charleston’s signature greenish-black accent color. Whatever the origins the color can best be described as bluish-blackish-green. Some paint specifications have the mixture as 70% black, 27% green, and 3% yellow. It has been said that only a trained eye with bright light can distinguish the difference between the color black and the color of Charleston Green and this can also be said about the Troutman Charleston Green finish. If you are looking for a color that is overtly green you may like Hunter Green better but if you are looking for the historic color of Charleston Green you'll be very happy with this finish.
